The cake is baking, the balloons are filling and the coffee is brewing, because we have turned 6! It’s been 6 incredible years of Sleepy Owl changing the at-home coffee experience for thousands of coffee lovers.
Sleepy Owl started as a brand that made out of this world coffee, and today, after 6 years, has become a community of coffee lovers which is constantly growing. With over 20,000 (and counting) happy customer reviews, we have come a long way from when we started.
Started from the bottom, now we here, and still have a long way to go.
Sleepy Owl started brewing back in 2016, when three friends who shared the same vision came together to change the coffee game. Their vision was pretty simple, they wanted to introduce people to really good coffee and make it accessible to everyone. They started with one product - the Cold Brew Box, in one city. Today, Sleepy Owl has over 30 distinct coffees, exclusive merchandise and accessories, that are delivered all over India. Sleepy Owl coffee has become a staple in many homes today.
Our first year was promising. The founders went on a recce, received the first samples and started brewing coffee in their own kitchens. They had to get the perfect ratios figured out before creating the final brew. After trials and sampling, the cold brew was invented. Sleepy Owl took part in many events at the time because each event was an opportunity to take our product to our fellow coffee lovers out there.
2017 was the true year of growth. We got the first taste of retail and man was it delicious. We built our first ever office, started hiring more like minded people to join the squad and take the brand forward. This is when the brand started becoming more of a community. We also opened our own little cafe and grew further with a lot of hard work, luckily we had delicious coffee to help us keep hustling.
Fully charged up on Sleepy Owl coffee and a vision to grow, we took more steps towards success in 2018 and 2019. We raised a lot of money through seed funding and started 2018 on a high note. This helped us take our coffee to all the homes across India. After getting an overwhelming response to our Cold Brew Coffee, things started getting hot, making way for our Hot Brew Bags. Next came our ready to drink cold brew bottles. Each day was about being better than the day before, and so we hustled, but not without celebrating every milestone. Gearing up for the future was the first task on our agenda.
In 2020, though the world went through a drastic change, we focused on more growth. Along came more flavours, more teamwork and some accolades that motivated us further. We got a factory in Delhi, and started making more coffee. 2021 gave way to more varieties - from ground coffee and South Indian filter coffee to premium instant coffee, ready to drink cold coffee and more.
That brings us to today, caffeinating and celebrating the past 6 years of our success journey. When people think of good coffee, we don’t want them to leave the comfort of their home, we want them to enjoy it just the way they like it, without having to go anywhere. We have an excitingly wide range of coffee available today and plan to keep that growing. Along with our hot brews and cold brews, that come in easy to use brew bags, we have delicious ground coffee which is available in different types of grinds. Our French press and brew kits have all the equipment you need to make our ground coffee just the way you like it.
We also have our one-of-a-kind premium instant coffee which is nothing like you’ve ever had before. It’s rich, aromatic and so easy to make that we have become one of the go-to instant coffee brands in India. We also have an instant coffee version of the very refreshing and authentic South Indian filter coffee.

Apart from the instant coffee variant we have filter coffee powder, and a brewer that can be used to brew the perfect cup, and filter coffee brew bags that are easy to make and taste absolutely amazing and come in three different flavours - Classic Kaapi, Madras Blend and Deccan Express.
The specially created Sleepy Owl merchandise has also grown to become a crowd favourite over the years. Whether it’s our travel mug, ceramic mug, coffee frother, tumbler or pitcher - they’ve all made their way into our customers’ lifestyles and kitchens.
Sleepy Owl coffee is exclusively made from Grade A coffee because we believe that a cup of coffee is ultimately only as good as the beans used to brew it. Our 100% Arabica beans are carefully sourced from South India and make our coffee all the more special. Our coffee is roasted in small batches to maintain a high standard of flavour and our signature taste. It’s delivered fresh as we seal every coffee as soon as it's roasted and ground perfectly.
We want to be as sustainable as possible and be good to our planet. After a lot of research, we have created packaging that doesn’t have any plastic in it. Our packs are made with paper and aluminium and are 100% recyclable.
